STANLEY NORMAN SHOOK On Saturday, November 25, 2006, Stanley Norman Shook passed away peacefully from a lengthy battle with cancer at the age of 78 years. Remaining to cherish Stan's memory are his wife Linda (Carlson) of 54 years of marriage; his children and grandchildren; son Glenn and his wife Penny and grandchildren Devon and Cameron; daughter Debra and her husband Richard and grandchildren Renee and Brett. Stan was born in Regina on January 29, 1928 and moved to Winnipeg in 1945. He met Linda playing baseball in Elmwood and so they began courting with a love to last. They were married in 1952 and together they raised two loving children and lived life to the fullest. To all of Stan's friends and associates from the Lacrosse team, Winnipeg Aquarium Society and The Royal Canadian Navy Reserves he bids adieu. He worked at Air Canada for 37 years and took early retirement to spend more time at the pet store. To his customers of 40 years of Tropicana Pet Store business we thank you. Stan also had a love for gardening and loved to show it off; they showed their yard in the Gardening Tours every summer. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, and playing pool; he got the nickname Mr. Hook . His generosity and sincerity were above him as he displayed such courage, determination, and strength of will throughout his life. Stan will be missed by his family and friends. In compliance with Stanley's wishes, no formal service will be held Our family would like to thank Dr. T. Lee and also extend our thanks to the staff at the Grace Hospital who helped live his last days with dignity.
